Who we are
Welcome to Chill Out Ice Tubs, New Zealand’s only hand made, composite ice tub company. We’re an active family of four living in Opua, Bay of Islands. Chill Out is a small, family run business with all tubs being made personally by Sam Price – the owner and mastermind behind Chill Out. We’re not another faceless brand, but one who truly believes in our products and the importance of holistic wellness. So much so, that a daily plunge is an essential part of our (Dad’s) wellness routines.
Our Story
Chill Out Ice Tubs was born from a desire to bring extremely high quality, economical ice tubs to the market in an effort to promote overall well being. I love making my own product and when the Lightbulb Moment hit me (Sam) like a ton of bricks I knew we were off. From over 15 years of experience using composite materials, even more experience injuring myself and a lifetime of getting obsessed with interests, the idea for Chill Out was born. It was time to turn some tools. Taking care of our minds and bodies by the way of volunteer challenge has spoken to me for a long, long time. By providing a cold plunge experience that is easy to manage, using quality product and economical, we hope this can be the Ice Cold Catalyst for you to bring about personal change, growth and feeling good!
Our Mission
Discipline before motivation. To provide a product that improves the human body and brain to its core while promoting and encouraging an active, challenging and healthy lifestyle. As I (Sam) have gotten older I’ve found cold plunging the perfect addition to help with the bodies gripes. We believe by challenging yourself and voluntarily doing hard things, like sitting in 4 degree water for several minutes a day, you are creating a mental strength and a strong body that enables you to face whatever challenges come your way in daily life. When we take time to focus on ourselves and our bodies, we feel fantastic and the usual everyday challenges don’t seem so hard anymore. By doing hard things, self belief grows and so does the “I can” attitude. With the ever growing mental health struggles in our society, we want to help bring positive action to people’s lives by building better bodies and minds. Chill Out Ice Tubs are just that, an ice cold catalyst to the best version of yourself.
